Can one be a True Christian and engage in Halloween festivities-can you imagine Jesus ” Trick or Treating?
Is one not supposed to Copy the Christ in word & Deed?
Could you see Jesus- or his disciples for that matter dressing up and having a ” Good Ol Time” trick or treating?.
Or does it fall under harmless fun?

Most popular answer:

Answer by Aunteater™
It falls under harmless fun.
The Halloween we celebrate today is dressing a bunch of little kids up in cute costumes and having them walk around the neighborhood asking for candy that adults will willingly give them. Harmless? I think so.

Many people seem to think that true Christians should not engage in Halloween festivities because of how it was started: Pagans dressing up in ghoul costumes and acting crazy to ward off nonexistent evil spirits.
However, today’s Halloween has evolved into harmless, fun activities like trick or treating and Halloween parties.

So, if true Christians shouldn’t celebrate Halloween, then we shouldn’t be celebrating the 4th of July either. Lots of people died in the process of founding our country. Yet, all the hate falls onto Halloween because of its origins. Origins that don’t take any part in the Halloween we celebrate today.

In the Name of Jesus: Reflections on Christian Leadership

Henri Nouwen was a spiritual thinker with an unusual capacity to write about the life of Jesus and the love of God in ways that have inspired countless people to trust life more fully. Most widely read among the over 40 books Father Nouwen wrote is In the Name of Jesus. For a society that measures successful leadership in terms of the effectiveness of the individual, Father Nouwen offers a counter definition that is witnessed by a “communal and mutual experience.” For Nouwen, leadership cannot function apart from the community. His wisdom is grounded in the foundation that we are a people “called.” This beautiful guide to Christian Leadership is the rich fruit of Henri Nouwen’s own journey as one of the most influential spirtiual leaders of

Based on her original Jesus Calling, this version has been adapted in a language and fashion that kids and tweens can relate to their everyday lives.  After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down what she believed He was saying to her through Scripture. Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her devotionals.  They are written from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling.  It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers, and now young readers, with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure.

Is God Really Good? (The Naked Truth Bible Series)

Is God really good? What is the real truth about the Bible? Does it have relevance beyond the world of religion? What about the God of the Bible? Is He real? Why should anyone care? And an answer to any of these questions just seems to raise even more questions.

Maybe it’s supposed to be used like a dictionary or encyclopedia, only to be accessed when we are missing an answer to a question or situation.
