What branch of Judaism is “Non-Messianic Judaism”?

What is going on with the thumbs downs? If there are Jews who call themself “Non-Messianic Jews”, then why don’t they answer?

Answer by Ambivalent LAUreate
That’s not really a question that’s possible to answer, because the term ‘non-Messianic Judaism’ doesn’t have any meaning. All Jews hold out a hope for a coming messiah or messianic age. I have only ever seen the term used by some so-called “Messianic Jews” who are not, of course, actually Jews, as part of their attempt to claim that they are a branch of Judaism and so they distinguish between “messianic” and “non-messianic” Judaism. In reality, there are Jews (of various branches including Orthodox, Reconstructionist, Reform, Conservative, Masorti, Liberal etc) and there are people whose beliefs are not Jewish.

EDIT: Oh, look!! Four thumbs downs for each of us first three answerers who all agree. I wonder who on earth those could have come from? [NB heavy sarcasm]

Temple Israel, Minneapolis

Temple Israel was founded as congregation Shaari Tov ("Gates of Goodness") in 1878. The building in the picture was designed by architect Jack Liebenberg, dedicated in 1929. The Temple’s pillared facade reflects Greek influence on early Judaism. The five doors represent five books of the Torah–Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

Aren’t Zionists Jews? Why do Jews say when they protest “Zionism is not Judaism”?
They all also say that Zionists are anti peace and cause trouble. For some reason Jews really dislike Zionists.
