Can you confute the statement “Christianity is neo-Judaism”?
(Meant much in the same way that aboriginal Paganism is differentiated from neo-Paganism)
No Lance, it means you refute it conclusively.

Madonna says she is “an ambassador for Judaism” despite not being Jewish?
Visiting pop idol Madonna toasted the Jewish new year with Israeli President Shimon Peres and declared herself an “ambassador for Judaism,” local newspapers reported Sunday.

The singer, who is not Jewish, met Peres at his official Jerusalem residence on Saturday evening, and the two exchanged gifts, with Madonna receiving a lavishly-bound copy of the Old Testament.

She presented Peres a volume of “The Book of Splendor,” the guiding text of Jewish mysticism, or Kabbalah, inscribed, “To Shimon Peres, the man I admire and love, Madonna,” the Yediot Ahronot daily said.

Was Gnosticism the original version of Judaism “and” Christianity?
This question is for people who have read the Nag Hammadi Library, not just the Gnostic Gospels, the whole collection that they found in Nag Hammadi. Could these be Coptic translations of original Hebrew-works? Could these have predated the Torah but unfortunately got suppressed by the Church, Pharisees and Sedducees?

Most popular answer:

Answer by Greek & Coptic Translator
No.

I am a Christian and I have examined Gnostic writings.

Most Gnostic works are in Coptic and many are in Greek. I translate Greek and Coptic. So I have examined many of them in detail, in the original languages.

The Gnostics were a minor religious group based in Egypt.

They were active primarily in the second and third centuries AD, and were competitors with Christianity (and other religions of the day including the Eleusinian Orgies, Mithras, Mater Magna, Sarapis, Manichaeism, etc.).

They got members by adopting and adapting stories from other religions, so they both borrowed and modified (or created) “Christian” Gospels.

They were actually a minor cult, when compared with the other, competing religions in Egypt at that time. For example, Clement of Alexandria, in his dissertation on non-Christian religions in Egypt, does not directly mention the Gnostics at all.

On the Nag Hammadi Codices

All the codices are fourth century papyrus. The find consists of 12 codices, plus 8 leaves from a 13th, and contains 52 texts. Duplications mean the number of unique works is 45. The Berlin Papyrus 8502 is grouped with them, although found separately, because of its related contents. The texts were originally written in Greek, and later translated into Coptic, not always very well (e.g. the passage of Plato).

So, yes. I have examoned the Gnostic manuscripts, and not by relying on a modern translation.

Their content is fuzzy at best, often incoherent, and at times absurd to the extreme.

They get way more publicity than they deserve.

Devout Jews honor the sabbath, which means they can’t use any electricity from sunset on friday to sunset on saturday. Of course, this is impossible, but they make a good show of it. The dietary restrictions are also pretty weird, you can google that or wiki it: Levitical Law, dietary restrictions, jewish, sabbath

Jews, why are you called “jews/judaism” when judah was only 1 among the 12 tribes of israel, are others lost?

Most popular answer:

Answer by EddieJ
The name took hold at a time when the tribe of Judah was the largest tribe. It took hold and stuck.

People need to know that etymology does not rule the definition of any words. It simply gives us an idea how a word came to be.

Since “Messianic Jews” are claiming to be part of Judaism, will they also eventually claim that Judaism is not?
real Judaism? Or Judaism is not Judaism because “Messianic Judaism” is the real Judaism, just like what happened with some of the offshoots of Catholicism claiming that Catholics are not Christians?

Someone asked me this simple question:

Can you make a simple statement to solve the dilemma of which Religion is the correct one?

I said: let us see what the probability test says

He said: what is the relationship between the probability test and the dilemma of which Religion is the correct one? Please do not make the issue complicated.

I said: the probability test puts forwards three logic probabilities

1. Judaism is the correct Religion and Christianity and Islam are wrong

2. Christianity is the correct Religion and Judaism and Islam are wrong

3. Islam is the correct Religion and Judaism and Christianity are wrong

Well, let us see the result of each probability

1. What if Judaism is the correct Religion and Christianity and Islam are wrong

In this case, Jews of course will enter the Paradise in the Hereafter.

Also, Christians and Muslims will enter the Paradise in the Hereafter because they believe in the great Prophet Moses and believe in his book, the Torah.

2. What if Christianity is the correct Religion and Judaism and Islam are wrong

In this case, Christians of course will enter the Paradise in the Hereafter.

However, the Jews will go to the Eternal Hell because they deny the Lord Jesus, Saint Mary and the Gospel.

On the other hand, Muslims will enter the Paradise in the Hereafter because they Love, respect and believe in the Lord Jesus and his Pure mother Saint Mary. Also, Muslims believe in the Gospel.

3. What if Islam is the correct Religion and Judaism and Christianity are wrong

In this case, Muslims of course will enter the Paradise in the Hereafter.

On the other hand, both Jews and Christians will go to the Eternal Hell in the Hereafter because they both deny Allah, Muhammad and the Quran.

The results of the probability test in respect to which Religion is the correct one and its impact on the Hereafter show that:

1. Jews have a chance of 33% to enter the Paradise in the Hereafter and a chance of 66% to go to Eternal Hell.

2. Christians have a chance of 66% to enter the Paradise in the Hereafter and a chance of 33% to go to Eternal Hell.

3. Muslims have a chance of 100% to enter the Paradise in the Hereafter and a chance of 0% to go to Eternal Hell.
